Overview
You may face an issue where you're trying to open an attachment you received in a Loopmail message, but when you click on it, it doesn't open.
Information
This issue was seen when opening Loopmail messages outside of the School Loop platform, for example in Gmail. It's due to the attachment having an HTTP URL, which gets blocked by the browser for security reasons. Although the message in Loopmail will have an HTTPS URL and will open normally on the School Loop platform, the one you receive in Gmail would have HTTP and won't open.
Our infrastructure team identified the root cause of this issue and performed a permanent fix so you should not be having it anymore.
In case you do, you can use the School Loop platform to open the attachments from Loopmail as a workaround then open a support ticket and provide the following information:
- The name of the sender of the message
- The topic of the message
- From which platform you’re trying to open the message (School Loop, Gmail, ..).
- A screenshot of the error that appears in the console when attempting to open the attachment. You can find the steps in How to open the browser console to view errors.
