Overview
You may want to change your school name and your homepage is managed outside of School Loop (it has a non SL URL)
Information
This action needs District Administrator rights.
If we change the school name, since the school is having a non-SL homepage linked to it the URL, the domain name will be automatically be reset to a new one with the notation:
shortname-District-state.schoolloop.com
For example, cls-compton-ca.schoolloop.com
If you don't mind the URL changing to the above-mentioned format, you can go ahead and submit a request to change the name indicating the current name and the desired name for the school, and our agents will help you.
Since the school is currently using a homepage that is managed outside of School Loop, the change in the school name is not reflected on this website and the administrator of the said site will have to perform the necessary changes from their end in order to reflect the new name.
Note that we can only accommodate adding Custom Domains that are owned by our customers and we cannot add/reassign new SL subdomains aside from the main URL mentioned above. Also, adding a custom domain will make it so that the custom URL will redirect to the current website but the site will still show the current URL
If you don't want the URL to change to the above-mentioned format, then you need to request a new school site and, once it is created, copy the required content from the old site to the new one (the required content needs to be moved manually):
-
- All users can download necessary files from lockers
- Teachers can download their Course Archives
Once the content is saved or copied, submit a request to deactivate your old school site.
