Setting Default Score to be Zero for New Assignments

Overview

When Teachers are creating a new Assignment, the score boxes for all the Students are needed to be automatically set to Zero (rather than empty) by default for that Assignment. This would be useful to Teachers for grading the Students who have not submitted any work for that Assignment.

Solution

There is a per Gradebook setting to default the new Assignment scores to Zero (0). So, you need to have a Teacher School Loop account with at least one active Course assigned to you to perform the below steps to apply this setting:

1. Login to your Teacher School Loop account.
2. Click Gradebooks and select the Course for which this setting should be applied.
3. Click the Tools tab and click Go to Settings:

4. Click Go under Default Score:

5. Select 0 (Zero) from the dropdown:

6. Click Submit

Testing

This setting will now be applicable to the future Assignments that get created for this Course and the Students will have a Zero (0) score for these Assignments by default when the Assignments are created.
