When logged into their School Loop accounts, students and parents have access to content published by teachers. Such content appears on the Classrooms and can include assignments, classroom news, curricular content, locker resources, and more. Additionally, teachers may also choose to publish content on their public website.
Classrooms are accessible by clicking the course title in the Academics section of the student and parent portals. When teachers also choose to publish a website, their name becomes a link to their site, as pictured below.
The content on Class Sites is divided into 4 components, each accessed using tabs as pictured below.
Divided into three sections: Weekly Calendar, Classroom News, and the Bulletin Board. The Weekly Calendar summarizes all content that is relevant for the current week (similar to Current Assignments on the Portal homepage for students and teachers). The content is automatically updated based on assigned and due dates published by the teacher. Classroom news contains information specific the course or class. The Bulletin Board may contain any content teachers choose to publish - typically the sort of information you'd find pinned to the physical bulletin board in the classroom
Includes all assignments published for the course, not just current assignments. Teachers may choose to include other content in the form of units and lessons. Think of this section as a sort of digital textbook.
Documents and links uploaded by teachers are available in the Locker. Students and parents may copy and download any document in the course locker.
The year-long calendar for the course will include all assignments. lessons, units and events published for the course.
While many teachers do choose to include their assignments, locker contents, and other course content on their public websites, each teacher is free to decide whether or not to publish a site at all and what content to include if they do. Please check with your individual teachers about how they use their teacher websites.
