Overview
If a Teacher assigned to a course or a period needs to be changed, for example, if a new Teacher takes over another Teacher's class, in such cases, you will need to transfer the Gradebooks and grades from the old teacher to the new teacher, so that the information stays intact and the students don't see any kind of changes in their grades in School Loop. The article gives details on how this can be done.
Solution
School Loop cannot directly move or transfer Gradebooks or partial grades from one teacher to another. There are 3 possible ways to do this -
- The current teacher needs to get the export of the grades by downloading the Gradebook copy for the course that needs to be transferred. These grades should then be provided to the new teacher. The new teacher should then manually enter these grades into their Gradebook. In order for this to be an exact representation of the old Gradebook, the new teacher will also need to manually recreate the assignments to be graded.
- The new teacher can be added as a Co-Teacher for that particular course. This will give the Co-Teacher full access to various aspects of a course like Gradebooks, Class Sites, Calendar, Locker, Curriculum, Student Tracker, and the Seating Chart.
- In case the current teacher is no longer an instructor, then, this would involve manual overwriting of the current teacher's information with the new teacher's information, since combining Gradebooks from several accounts into one is something that School Loop doesn't do. School Loop considers this as a case of Long Term Substitute teacher and you would need to contact School Loop support in order to process this Long Term Substitute request.
