This article aims to guide you on how to properly fill up a New District Site form in order to create a new site for new customers.
Step By Step Guide
1. New customers fills up a Site Creation form from School Loop's welcome site.
NOTE: The form will be sent to School Loop's group mail (email@example.com)
There may be cases where a customer will just provide the information through email without filling up the form.
2. Once you receive the email or the information, login to Live -> Toolbox -> Create District.
3. Fill up the form.
a. Complete Name - name of the School (e.g. School District)
b. Acronym - School acronym (e.g. SD)
c. Current homepage URL - should include the http/s (e.g. https//school.com)
d. Custom domain - omit the http/s part (e.g. school.com)
e. State - e.g. CA
f. Time Zone - Make sure to enter the correct time zone.
g. School Code - For Standard customers, just type 0. For Plus customers, they will need to enter their SIS code.
h. Imp Leader's Name - instead of using the name listed from the form, you can come up with any names for the meantime (e.g. sys admin)
i. Imp Leader's Email - use a non existent email in order to prevent from sending a welcome letter.
NOTE: A site district account can be created later on after the site creation. The reason for using "any" name is to prevent the user from having multiple accounts created in case they'll be adding more schools to their site. (a new form will be filled up for additional school sites)
IMPORTANT: Do not forget to delete this user from the district admin list once you create a district admin account for the customer.
j. First Day - Try to back up at least 3 weeks prior to 1st day of school.
Example: if school starts on Aug 16 enter July 26.
This will give School Loop a time to roll during summer.
Last Day - Enter 3 weeks after the actual last day
Example: If the last day is June 6, enter June 27.
NOTE: Any existing information from our system will give an error once you click Submit. (e.g. Domain is already in used...etc)
3. Once you submit the form, it'll bring you back to the Live home page. The new district should now be available on the list.
NOTE: The site will not be accessible right away. Just give it at least 10 mins to be processed on the server.
This is how a new site will look like once it's done.
