Overview
Webmasters can use the Button module to easily add customizable buttons on site pages,. Buttons may link to other pages, files, or resources.
Prerequisites
You need to have Webmaster rights to be able to edit site pages.
Solution
- Log into your School Loop account with Webmaster rights.
- From Toolbox, select Site Center.
Note: If this option is missing, you do not have webmaster rights. - Select the page to which you want to add a Button and click Edit.
If the page is located under a minisite (like on the image below), you need to click on the minisite first and then select the page.
Alternatively, you can create a new page. - Hover over free space on the page or an existing module and click on the displayed Plus Icon to add a module. If you click on the plus icon on an existing module - a new module is added next to the existing one.
- Select the Button module from the Insert Module screen.
The Button module appears on the page. -
Click on the button and enter its title. Avoid using all upper-case letters to keep your site 508 compliant

Click Format to modify size and location of the button.
- Select the required size and location of the button.
We will use the Medium Left option in this example. -
Click on the Link icon to configure the link that will be opened upon clicking on the button.
- Select the resource that will be linked to your button. You can use one of the following options:
- Web - Enter a URL to the required website, page, or file and click Submit.
- Site Map - Select a page from your site that will be opened upon clicking on the button.
The module is updated automatically once you select the required page. You need to click Submit only when entering a Web URL. - Locker - Select a file from any of the lockers, which will be opened upon clicking on the button.
- User Site - Select a teacher or school staff user site that will be opened upon clicking on the button.
- News - Select a news item that will be opened upon clicking on the button.
- Events - Select an event that will be opened upon clicking on the button.
- Web - Enter a URL to the required website, page, or file and click Submit.
- Once the module is ready, modify the page further as needed and Publish it.
Confirmation
Open the page that you have updated and click on the button to confirm that the correct resource is being opened.
