Users may spammed by multiple password reset emails which they haven't requested. Emails including a temporary password are sent every few minutes.
This happens when a user installed a 3rd-party application/extension and the app tries to log in to School Loop every few minutes with the wrong password. After ten failed attempts, the user receives a password reset email.
We were able to confirm this behavior for In the Loop extension for Google Chrome. Other 3rd-party extensions may cause the same issue if they are trying to log in automatically.
You need to uninstall the extension that is causing the issue:
- Open Google Chrome.
- Click on the Extensions icon in the top right corner and select Manage Extensions.
- Click Remove under the In the Loop extension (or select another 3rd-party extension for School Loop that you are using).
- Confirm the removal.
Check your email in some time - you should not receive unsolicited password reset emails anymore.
