Step-by-Step Guide
Pre-Requisites
Google sign on works only if the user's School Loop account has their Google email address. Typically, this will be a district email address hosted by Google, but a personal Gmail address will work as well. This feature works with all account types.
Sign-in with Google
- When Google SSO is enabled, the login page will include this button:
- Simply click the button and choose the Google account you wish to use. If you're not already logged into your Google account, you'll be prompted to do that first.
Signing Out of Google
- When you log out of School Loop, you'll be presented with the option to also sign out of Google.
NOTE: It is important to do so if you are using a device shared with others.
HELPFUL TIPS:
Synchronizing of account information is still possible since users might still edit all their account details via School Loop.
Google SSO integration can replace your Active Directory integration - Unlike Google SSO, the AD integration does sync account details (name and email address). If that's not an important feature for your district, Google SSO might be a better way to go. Contact our support team for more details.
Students and parents use Google to login - They may as long as their account has an email address hosted by Google. It does not have to be a district Google Domain. For example, a user may be using their personal Gmail address with their School Loop account.
