Embedding Social Media Feeds on School Loop Site

 

Overview

To add social media feeds on your School Loop website, you can add Custom HTML modules for each feed to your pages in School Loop.

 

Solution

There are 2 sets of steps that need to be followed:

  1. Getting HTML Code from Social Media Sites
  2. Inserting HTML Code on School Loop Site

 

Getting HTML Code from Social Media Sites

You can visit either of the following links to get the code for your page/post on that site:

For any other social media service you wish to embed, you can search on Google to find the respective code.

On the social media websites, after providing the URL of your page/post that you want to embed, they usually provide a Get Code or a Copy Code button, which can be used to copy the code for embedding the feeds into your School Loop site.

If there are any additional social media site-specific instructions on the website that are required for embedding, then, those should be followed first before proceeding further with the addition of social media feed in the School Loop site.

 

Inserting HTML Code on School Loop Site

  1. Login to your School Loop account with Webmaster rights.
  2. Select the Site Center option under Toolbox:

  1. Select the page in your site where you want to add the social media feed and click on Edit:

  1. Click on the plus sign to open the Insert Module pop-up.
    Note: Only one social media feed can be added per module. Additional modules need to be added for more social media feeds.

  1. Select the Custom HTML module on the Insert Module pop-up:

  1. Click Code Editor up in the toolbar:

  1. Paste the code (found on the social media site) in the HTML column in the School Loop editor and click OK:

The code can also be edited/modified (height, width, etc.) as per your placement and requirement on the School Loop site.

Note: In case of any issues with the code in these websites, they are usually resolved by selecting the appropriate page location/link on the social media site, correct post location/link on the social media site, etc.
The social media sites also have their Developer forums where answers to their social media feed related code can be found.

  1. (Optional) Click Preview at the top of the site editor page to see how the embedded site will look on the School Loop site. Make any changes if needed.
  2. Click Publish Changes at the top of the site editor page and the embedded social media feed will be live on your School Loop site.

Repeat the above steps for adding the social media feed from any other social media sites.

 

Testing

The social media feed/s will be live on your School Loop website on the page/s where you have added them.
