Overview

It is always convenient for users to crop images in the desired ratio or dimensions while uploading it to the website without involving any third-party image editor.

School Loop offers image cropping functionality with the following modules:

• Carousel
• Image
• Showcase
• Badge

The article details the process of cropping the pictures while uploading them to any of the modules listed above.

Process

To crop the images while uploading, follow the steps listed below:

1. Login to your School Loop account.

2. From the Toolbox menu, click Site Center > Edit.

3. Select the module by clicking on it once. In the case of the Carousel, click on an image to select the slide after choosing the module.

4. On the toolbar, click the Crop icon. 
   

   Note that modules which are part of a template may be locked and these cropping tools may not be available.

   From here, you may:

   1. Click and hold to drag the image within the frame; This is particularly useful for centering faces in the frame.

   2. Drag the handle to zoom in; best used in conjunction with the step above.

   3. Check the box to fit the image. Typically, this will leave some blank space either on the sides or top and bottom of the image, depending on its shape. 
      
      

The Image and Carousel modules also have an Aspect Ratio option in the toolbar.

Changing the aspect ratio can allow you to optimize how much of the image is displayed.

Confirmation

After publishing or previewing site, you will see the cropped image in the module added.
