Overview
You may want to customize your school's homepage template so you can have a layout better suited to your needs.
Information
Please keep in mind that all homepage content will be lost when a new homepage template is selected and you will need to add all information to the homepage from scratch. Interior pages are not affected by the change.
To proceed, you should have a school loop account with Webmaster or Senior District Webmaster rights.
Note: If not, you can ask any Webmaster to provide the same rights to you. If you are a district admin, only Senior District Webmaster rights can be assigned to you.
Please refer to the article Homepage Templates, to have an idea of what changes can be made to your template before you perform the steps below:
- Log into your school loop account.
- From the Toolbox:
- Senior District Webmaster - select Admin Center.
Then select the required District or School site and click Login to site. - Webmaster - select Site Center.
Note: When you click Site Center or Login to Site, a school site page in the edit mode may be displayed. Click Save Draft or Cancel for the Site Center to be displayed.
- Senior District Webmaster - select Admin Center.
- Select the Tools tab.
- Click Unpublish Site next to Site Status.
- Click Unpublish to confirm the action.
- Next to Select Homepage, click on the Select button, which has just appeared.
- Click on one of the templates.
You can click Preview to take a look at the template in full-screen mode. - Once you picked the desired template, click Select.
- Click Implement.
Remember that all content from your current Homepage will be lost.
Confirmation
After completing step 9, the Site Center page is opened. Click Edit to review your new homepage (it is selected by default).
The homepage with the new template is displayed. All information on the homepage is removed and replaced with generic templates. You will need to edit the homepage and publish the site when it is ready.
If you don't want to recreate the content, you can change the template back to the previously used one and restore the previous version of the page.
