This article will be used by teachers who wish to learn about School Loop's progress reports feature.

Reference Information

There are two major types of progress reports, the traditional and the mastery-based progress reports.

Traditional Progress Report

The default or traditional progress report is the system's default progress report and it includes all data collected by School Loop. It supports the use of point-based or percentage-based grading. Since the traditionally used grades are from A to F, School Loop allows numeric to letter grade conversions to be customized per course and even per student.

The traditional progress report displays:

1. Current Summary Grade: - Based on published grades
2. Percentage Score: Current percent score as affected by weighting (if applicable)
3. Last Published: Date and time that scores were last published
4. Assignment Category: Category for the assigned work
5. Assignment Title: Title of the assigned work
6. Score: Points earned on assigned work
7. Grade Trend: Displays data from the first published grade to the most recent
8. Score Per Category: Displays current categories in use, percent score per category, and weighted percent of a category if weighting is applied.
9. Grade Scale: Applied grading scale for the course and/or student
10. Grade Legend: Displays custom codes

Mastery-Based Progress Report

The mastery progress report supports the use of mastery-based grading, which is a system of evaluating students based on their demonstrated level of mastery of concepts. For this system, it may prove useful to hide the letter grade and/or percentage scores from the student's progress reports.

Mastery Progress Report: Hide Summary Grade

In this report, both the letter grade and percentage scores are hidden along with the grade trend graph, scores per category, and grade scale. The mastery-based progress report with hidden summary grade displays:

1. Last Published: Date and time when scores were last published
2. Assignment Category: Category for the assigned work or standard
3. Assignment Title: Title of the assigned work or standard
4. Score: Points earned on assigned work or standard
5. Notes/Comments: Displays the custom progress report message. Customize the message to show a rubric scale.
6. Grade Legend: Displays custom codes

Mastery Progress Report: Display Summary Grade

This report is the same as the one shown above but the letter grade is displayed, it displays:

1. Current Summary Grade: Based on published grades.
2. Last Published: Date and time when scores were last published.
3. Assignment Category: Category for the assigned work or standard.
4. Assignment Title: Title of the assigned work or standard.
5. Score: Points earned on assigned work or standard.
6. Notes/Comments: Displays the custom progress report message. It can be customized to show a rubric scale.
7. Grade Legend: Displays custom codes.
