Overview
Teachers can sync their School Loop and Google Classroom accounts, which enables:
- An automatic push of assignments created in Google Classroom to School Loop.
- A push of assignments created in School Loop to Google Classroom.
- Import of grades from Google Classroom to School Loop.
- Syncing your rosters by automatically inviting students from your School Loop course to Google Classroom.
- Automatic creation of classes in Google Classroom to match your School Loop classes.
This article gives the steps to integrate these two accounts for easier management of courses and Gradebooks.
Prerequisites
- Google Classroom integration is enabled for your District.
Note: If the options in step 2 are missing, reach out to your District Admin - they need to submit a request to enable this feature. - You are a teacher and you have a Google account provided by your school.
Solution
- Log in to your School Loop teacher account.
- Open Google Classroom integration using one of the following ways:
- From your portal homepage, click Set up Assignment Syncing under Google Classroom:
- Click Settings and then click Go under Google Classroom.
- From your portal homepage, click Set up Assignment Syncing under Google Classroom:
- Click Connect to Google Classroom.
Note: If your account is already connected to Google Classroom, skip steps 3-5 - the page from step 6 will be displayed for you, where you can configure linked courses. - Select the Google account provided by your School.
Note: If you select your personal account, you will not be able to invite students. - On the new page, click Allow to approve access for School Loop.
- On the new page, select the course you want to link and click on the Not Linked dropdown.
- From the dropdown menu:
- Select one of the existing courses on Google Classroom.
- Select Create Google Course to automatically create a course on your Google Classroom with the same name as in School Loop.
- Select the default category for assignments imported from Google Classroom:
- Click Submit.
Confirmation
After completing step 8, your homepage with a Success message is displayed.
If you have selected the option to create Google course, you should see a new course (that you need to accept) once you open Google Classroom:
