Overview
Each year, during the summer break, District Administrators or Staff Members handling Sloopy need to remove all data for the previous year from the Sloopy data folder to avoid old schedules from importing into School Loop.
Prerequisites
- You have Sloopy installed and configured during previous school years.
Solution
On the machine where Sloopy is installed, perform the following steps:
- Stop the automated task that runs the Sloopy imports:
- From the Windows Search menu, find and open Task Scheduler:
- Expand the Task Scheduler Library and select the folder where you created the automated task. By default, it is created in the Microsoft folder.
- Right-click on the Sloopy task and click Disable.
The task is displayed as Disabled:
- From the Windows Search menu, find and open Task Scheduler:
- Delete all files from the Sloopy data folder.
- Open the folder where Sloopy is installed.
- Open the folder for your SIS where you configured sloopy for the previous school year.
If you use another SIS, open the Generic folder.
- Open the data folder and remove all the files inside that folder.
Make sure that the folder is empty, but do not delete the folder itself.
- Next, as part of New School Year Tasks, you need to update the data import configuration to retrieve data for the new school year.
Note: If you do not update scripts/bat files, your last year's data may be imported into School Loop.
