Overview
Webmasters and teachers may need to post various files (PDF, DOC, etc.) on school site or user sites. Files can be added from your Locker or uploaded from your computer directly.
Prerequisites
- You need to have webmaster rights to add a file to a school site.
- You need to have a teacher, admin, or staff account to add a file to your user site (My Website).
- If you want to add a file to a Text module, you need to upload the file to the locker first.
Solution
- Log in to your School Loop account.
- Click Site Center if you want to add file to one of the pages on the School Site.
- Click My Website if you want to add file to your User Site.
- Click Site Center if you want to add file to one of the pages on the School Site.
- Open the page to which you want to add a file on the School Site or your User Site.
- You have two options:
- Add a Text module to the required page - it allows you to add description, images and links within the same module.
- Click on the links button from the toolbar.
- From the Locker tab, open the required locker and select the file you want to add.
- Remove the file extension (e.g., .pdf) from the file name to make the link ADA compliant (the extension is already added in parentheses):
- Enter additional description to the text module if needed.
- Click on the links button from the toolbar.
- Add a File List module to the required page - it contains only a list of files (without option to add description within the module, except for the title).
- Drag and drop the required file to the newly created module.
- Remove the file extension from the file name to make the link compliant (the extension is already added in parentheses):
- Right-click on the module and add a title if needed:
- Drag and drop the required file to the newly created module.
- Add a Text module to the required page - it allows you to add description, images and links within the same module.
- Edit the page as desired.
- Once it is ready to be published, click Publish Changes in the top right corner of the screen.
Confirmation
Open the updated page or user site.
The newly added file is displayed on the page and can be downloaded.
