This article lists the product-specific terms and acronyms that customers and agents need to know. The terms defined here do not need to be redefined when used in other articles.

ADA Compliance | The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a Federal Civil Rights Law that prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in everyday activities. In other words, all content provided on the site must be accessible by people with disabilities. |
AP | Assistant Principal |
August Angst | Application used by Professional Services to maintain planned dates for rolling schools. |
CMS | Content Management System |
District | A school district is an area that includes all the schools that are located within that area and are governed by a particular authority. |
Gradebook | Gradebook is a page that is available in School Loop Plus; it is used by teachers to enter grades for their students for assignments for a certain course. |
K-12 | Kindergarten - 12th Grade |
LDAP | Lightweight Directory Access Protocol is used by certain schools as an authentication method. |
Live | School Loop live environment - the portal that contains information about all schools. It is used by agents for troubleshooting. |
LMS | Learning Management System |
Locker | It is a page that is used to store various files. |
LoopMail | Internal School Loop messaging system that can be used by students, parents, and teachers. |
Module | A prebuilt unit that has a certain layout and can be added to a site by the user (e.g., badge, file list, carousel, etc.) |
SaaS | Software as a Service |
Section | It is a part of the term. For example, a term can start on September 1st and end on December 24th; it can have several sections (from September 1st till October 15th and so on). There may be separate gradebooks for each section. |
Sloopy | It is a tool that is used by schools to import data (e.g., about students, teachers, classes) from SIS into School Loop. |
SLA | Service Level Agreements |
SIS | Student information system that contains information about students and teachers, including their IDs, classes, etc. Is maintained by schools. |
SLS2 | School Loop System Version 2 - Modern version of School Loop that was released at the beginning of 2018. |
Teacher ID | Each teacher must have a Teacher ID; it is assigned to each person in SIS. |
