Overview
This article covers the basics of making routine updates to pages in your site.
Resolution
Unlike our old interface, you do not start in the edit mode for your site. Instead, you are seeing the live view of your site.
- Use the navigation menu in the left column of your site to select the page you wish to edit.
- Then click the Edit button.
Initially, the page does not look much different, but you will notice a change in the buttons at the top-right and the borders of the modules on the page will appear as you move your mouse around the page.
Working With Modules
Before diving into how to edit specific modules, it is important that you gain an understanding of how to work with modules. For this purpose, please review the Working with Modules article, you can also refer to the Working with Modules video version of this article for more information.
With the basics of modules under your belt, you are now ready to dive in. Just remember to select modules by clicking once, then look to the Toolbar for all the controls.
Save Your Work
The blue buttons at the top-right in edit mode allow you to publish your changes, save draft (continue working at a later time), or cancel all your changes.
Module Differences Between SLS1 and SLS2
Most of the modules in SLS2 will be very familiar to our users, but there are a few differences worth pointing out:
Carousel Module
This module, formerly called the Slideshow Element, has been enhanced. Please review the Adding the Carousel Module to Your Page article for more information.
Calendar Module
The week format most commonly used in the old format is no longer available. There is a vertical list option where you can choose to display up to the 10 most current events as well as full month format.
Custom HTML Module
This module was previously only available to webmasters but is now included for all users. This module allows you to embed content such a Twitter feed or a Google Map.
