When a student submits a native Google document to an assignment, the teacher receives both the Google doc and a copy as either a PDF or RTF document. The copy is a snapshot of the Google document at the time of submission. No changes to the original document made after submission will be reflected in the snapshot unless the student resubmits the assignment.
Students can also submit non-native Google Doc files from Drive; those files will be submitting as the same format as the original document (e.g. text file, Word, Excel, etc.).
