This guide illustrates how to assign the various levels of website rights.
When your district is ready to upgrade to SLS2, School Loop will assign Senior District Webmaster rights to a designated district administrator. That person will assign website rights to others.
School Loop has 4 levels of rights for websites:
- Senior District Webmasters oversee all websites for the district and can mange the templates used within the district.
- Site Webmasters have rights to all pages for a single site.
- Editors have rights to a specific sections of a single website, but not the homepage.
- Contributors also have rights to a specific sections of a single site, but their work needs to be approved by those with higher level rights.
Websites rights may only be assigned to those with a School Loop account. Learn more about creating accounts.

Assign Editors and Contributors Rights
These directions apply to all levels of webmasters as well editors who may assign other editors or contributors to their assigned section of the website. Only minisites may have editors and contributors.
Log into your account and click the Site Center link located in the Toolbox in the right column. From the Site Center, use the site map to drill down to the minsite where you wish to assign rights. Click once to highlight the minisite row, then click the Manage Minisite button.
Minisites look just like the Site Center but with the site map restricted to just that minisite. Click the Tools tab and then click the Manage Rights button to assign or revoke editor and contributor rights for the selected minisite.
On the next page there are separate buttons for adding editors and contributors.
Do not grant webmaster rights to users who only need to manage content for just a portion of the website. Editor and contributor are the appropriate level of rights for these users.
Webmasters do not require an account with administrative rights.
